The premises of Hotel Lužan in Rumburk once housed a grocery store. However, the owner, Mr. Lukáš Bernas, envisioned a new use for the space – creating a joyful place for young children.
He divided the former grocery store into two parts: a toy store and a dinosaur-themed children’s playroom. The playroom offers adventures with a giant play structure, a children’s corner, and a fun game machine. Parents can enjoy a break in a cozy corner with excellent coffee and light refreshments.
We also contributed to the modernization of the playroom by supplying the air distribution system.
During the renovation, the original metal ducts were removed and replaced with textile diffusers.
The primary reason for choosing textile was the ability to achieve even air distribution, which metal ducts would not have been able to provide.
Due to missing documentation for the old air supply unit, it was first necessary to measure its capacity. Based on the measured values, we designed a system primarily focused on heating the space.
The result is a system with two branches from the main diffuser, ensuring effective heat distribution to all corners of the playroom.
The solution consists of a half-round D500/250 mm diffuser, operating with a maximum pressure loss of 112 Pa and maintaining an acoustic power level of 48 dB(A), ensuring quiet and efficient operation that doesn’t disturb children during their adventures.
The chosen material for the system is TCS with a permeability of 50 m³/m²/h, OEKO-TEX® certified and meeting the fire safety standard B-s1, d0. We produce this material in our own weaving mill in Vejen, Denmark, and it has up to 4 times the dust-holding capacity compared to commonly used materials. This ensures longer service intervals without compromising performance.
System Components
In selecting the components for this system, we decided to use the following:
The connection to the air supply was achieved using a Hidden Frame. The old steel duct had been shortened close to the wall and lose its original flange. Thanks to the Hidden Frame, which can be easily assembled from the included rails around the rectangular air supply, the connection was quick and seamless.
The diffusers are made from TCS material, produced in our own weaving mill in Denmark. The white color was chosen for aesthetic reasons, as the duct on the blue ceiling create the impression of clouds floating in the sky.
DFC Induction ensures even air distribution. The alternating flaps and openings allow air to flow perpendicularly and evenly into the room, preventing it from being pulled along the flow direction and eliminating the risk of drafts.
Considering the half-round shape of the diffusers, the suspension was chosen in the form of an aluminum Wingrail, which is characterized by being mounted directly to the ceiling.
The installation of the textile ducts was quick and easy – assembling the 30-meter system took less than 2 hours and required no special tools.
